ALCAR, the acronym for Azienda Lombarda Commercio Auto Ricambi, was established in Capodimonte di Castenedolo on 4th March 1981. After only a few years of activity, we boasted customers in over thirty different countries worldwide. As a result, in 1986 we acquired new larger premises in the industrial estate north of Castenedolo that allowed us to increase our production capacity accordingly.

1989 was a year of great change that involved the corporate structure and all the administrative bodies. Virtually the entire workforce was renewed, the aim being to create a much younger and more dynamic organisation. Around the same time, as the direct result of several counterfeiting episodes to the detriment of Alcar, we created our own “Automotive Products of Italy" trademark to highlight the quality of our products.

In 1991, Alcar stopped producing car parts, due to increasingly harsh competition from emerging countries, and branched out into the farm machinery sector. At the same time, we launched the sale of new generators as well as used lorries, tractors, and farming and earth-moving machinery, mainly in view of creating a market for spare parts.

In 1994 Alcar acquired two trademarks from Italcardano, RICARRO (spares for industrial vehicles) and VANGUARD (valves and engine components), which introduced us to new clients abroad that already knew and appreciated them.

In spring 2008 we moved to our current premises at 30 Via Vannucci, Brescia, which are more extensive than before, have a more rational layout and are better equipped. The Alcar plant is conveniently located close to the motorway, just two kilometres from the Brescia Centro exit.
